This notice explains how FISCAL FRONT LTD (“Fiscal Front”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit our website, subscribe, contact us, comment on a story, request tax support or send a community announcement. It is written for the website’s current features and should be reviewed whenever our services or providers change.
Information we collect and why
Depending on the feature you use, we may process:
- Newsletter: your email address, to record your request to receive the weekly Fiscal Briefing. The current application stores sign-ups for the team but does not yet connect to an email delivery service, so it does not currently send the briefing. To withdraw your request, contact us using the Contact page.
- Contact: your name, email, optional phone number, topic and message, so our team can respond.
- Tax expert requests: your name, email, phone, preferred contact method and time, requested service and details, so we can review and follow up.
- Community announcements: your name, email, optional phone and the milestone information you submit, so editors can review it.
- Story comments: the name and comment you submit, the story it relates to and submission time. Comments are held for moderation; approved comments appear publicly.
- Likes: story identifiers used to count likes. The live site stores the count with site content and remembers liked-story identifiers in your browser.
- Technical and security data: information processed by the web host and our administrator sign-in controls to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the site.
Community announcements and public content
Editors review announcements before publication. If an announcement is approved, its event details, headline and submitted description may be shown publicly. Please submit only information you are authorized to share, especially for another person, and do not include sensitive personal information or financial/tax identifiers.
How information is used and who can access it
We use submitted details to provide the feature you requested, respond to enquiries, moderate content, administer subscriptions, maintain site security and meet applicable legal obligations. Submissions are available to authorized Fiscal Front administrators. The live application is designed to store site and submission records in a MySQL/MariaDB database. The hosting provider may process technical information to operate the service. We do not currently integrate an external newsletter delivery provider or advertising/analytics platform into the site.
Browser storage and cookies
In live mode, this browser stores only the identifiers of stories you have liked. The administrator sign-in uses a necessary HTTP-only session cookie that expires after eight hours. Live submissions are sent to the server; the site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Third-party services and transfers
Google Fonts may receive a connection when your browser loads the site’s typefaces. Pages with an embedded YouTube player or YouTube thumbnails may connect to Google/YouTube and disclose technical connection data such as your IP address and browser information. Their processing is governed by their own privacy notices. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf. The hosting location, any international transfers and applicable safeguards must be confirmed with the provider for the live deployment.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to handle the request, operate the site and meet legal obligations. The site does not yet publish a fixed retention schedule or backup deletion period; these should be confirmed and applied by the operator. Available administrator controls can remove many individual submissions, but server backups may persist according to the host’s backup cycle. We use access controls and reasonable technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to processing, or a copy of data you provided. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; this does not affect earlier processing. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. To make a request, use the Contact page and select “Privacy or data request”; include enough detail for us to locate the information. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Contact and updates
For privacy questions or requests, contact FISCAL FRONT LTD through the Contact page. We will update this notice when our practices change and show the revision date above.
This notice describes the current application. Before accepting live submissions, the operator should confirm the privacy contact route, retention and backup schedule, hosting location and transfer arrangements. See the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the NDPC’s GAID 2025.
